The Gulls 19U Prep Team is dedicated to developing high-performance student-athletes through year-round training, elite competition, and a culture of discipline, accountability, and teamwork. Established in 2024 and based in Central Alberta, our program prepares players for collegiate opportunities while building character, leadership, and a commitment to excellence on and off the field. With the support of our families, local sponsors, and community partners Sylvan Lake Gulls and St. Joseph's High School, we are proud to help Alberta ball athletes train harder, compete at a higher level, and pursue their future in the game.
Year Round Training
The Gulls provide a comprehensive year-round training program designed to support the long-term development of high-performance athletes. Players participate in structured skill development, strength and conditioning, position-specific instruction, arm care, mobility training, and competitive preparation throughout the entire year. Off-season training focuses on building strength, athleticism, mechanics, and baseball IQ, while in-season development emphasizes performance, recovery, and consistent growth.
Partnership with SJHS and Sylvan Lake Gulls
The Gulls and St. Joseph's High School are partnered through a collaborative high-performance baseball academy model designed to support both academic achievement and elite athletic development.
This partnership integrates structured daily training within the St. Joseph’s Baseball Academy program while aligning directly with the Gulls’ high-performance training and competition structure. Athletes benefit from consistent coaching, shared development philosophies, and coordinated programming between school-based instruction and competitive team environments. Several coaches are involved in both the school academy and Gulls program, ensuring continuity in athlete development and individualized skill progression.
Top Notch Facilities and Training Tech
The Gulls train in a high-performance environment that combines top-tier facilities with advanced development technology to support year-round athlete growth.
During the off-season, athletes utilize the training spaces at St. Joseph's High School, including a fully equipped field house and weight room designed for strength training, movement development, and skill work. Players also have access to Rapsodo technology, allowing coaches and athletes to track pitching and hitting metrics, analyze performance data, and build individualized development plans based on objective feedback.
In the summer season, the Gulls train and compete at Gulls Field, a state-of-the-art turf facility and home of the Sylvan Lake Gulls.
Support with College Placement
Coaches within the program also provide mentorship throughout the recruiting process, helping players understand timelines, expectations, and how to present themselves effectively to college programs. This includes guidance on highlight preparation, player development feedback, and general support in navigating conversations with post-secondary coaches. To date, the Falcons Academy have had 61 athletes go on to compete at the college level.
By combining year-round development, competitive play, and structured mentorship, the Gulls help athletes build realistic and achievable pathways toward collegiate baseball while ensuring they remain focused on both academic and athletic success.
